Work Experience
2007: Design Assistance for Printed Textile work based in design studio; Tracey Ward Designs. Working on printed repeats that are traced and adapted by hand and computer, for companies within the fashion industry. Also past and current work experience involves creating print designs for a fashion agent selling work at trade fairs worldwide.
2006: Work Experience - Working on restoration project organised by Anthony Penrose, with the aim of producing a digital reproduction of the fabric required for restoring photographer, Lee Miller's sofa. The job required a quote to be produced for the costing of the project as well as technical digital print design work. The funding was not great enough to be able to resolve this project.
In addition to this, my portfolio of digitally printed Surrealist textile fabrics was discussed with Mr. Penrose in relation to potential future work and its context within fashion design. Opportunities included designing merchandise for potential selection by the Victoria and Albert Museum, in connection with the Lee Miller centenary 2007 exhibition. Although my designs were not selected due to product choice, the experiences gained were invaluable, from which I learned many professional business and design skills.
2006: Working with 'W', American fashion magazine. Modelled designer clothing in studio and on location. Photographer: David Sims.
